Due to advances in technology, playing videos in MS Windows has
led to compatability issues with the various versions of media player
that came with win95-OSR1, win95-OSR2, win98, winNT.

QuickTime 3 defaults it's settings to play audio using directx
If you are getting those annoying clicks/pops this is how you
change the quicktime settings to use "wave out" audio.

1. in windows Control Panel -> open the quicktime control panel
2. on the top menu select "sound out"
3. select "wave out" instead of "direct sound"
